Stop asking people "How was your night" - 20 Wrong English and the corrections. Some of the English we speak everyday are incorrect but most of us communicating with the English are not aware.   Below are some common errors spoken in English language.    Incorrect English 1. Please off the light Correct English Please switch of the lights Incorrect English 1. The rain is falling Correct It's raining Incorrect English 3. Open to page 50 Correct Open at page 50 Incorrect English 4. The Man is trickish Correct The man is tricky Incorrect English 5. When are they coming Correct When will they come Incorrect English 6. NEPA has Brought the light Correct NEPA has restored the light Incorrect English 7. He is lacking behind    Correct He is lagging behind Incorrect English 8. Akpan is a gagte man Correct Akpan is a gate keeper Incorrect English 10. I waved my hands to him yesterday Correct I waved to him yesterday    Do not ask people how was their night, most people find it offending. You do not know what might have happened during the night. In other part of the world, if you ask some people "How was your night",  They feel you are intruding their privacy.   So after greeting "Good morning" if you feel like adding other words you can go ahead and say "Hope you slept well".    I hope you learnt something new.
