COVID-19 cases in Nigeria increased further on Friday 31st May with 389 cases and 9 deaths reported within the country, whilst authorities intensify efforts to flatten the curve of the pandemic.
The new cases were confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) via their twitter handle showing the statistics of the entire number of confirmed cases, the entire number of recovered cases and therefore the total number of deaths. This takes the country’s total infections to 12,233 out of which 3,826 are discharged and 342 have lost their lives. Data from the NCDC showed that the 389 cases were spread across 23 states, with Lagos accounting for the highest number of infections.
