ABUJA – Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, Head of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 sent to in­vestigate the high incidence of deaths in Kano State, said the committee would soon conclude its findings and release its report.

It would be recalled that over 600 persons were re­ported to have lost their lives in Kano State within 10 days amidst COVID-19 pandemic.

This unwholesome phe­nomenon led the Federal Government to dispatch task force to unravel the cause of the deaths.

Gwarzo, who is also the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Invest­ments, said the team was making progress in the as­signment and would soon conclude its investigations.

Addressing members of the Emergency Opera­tion Centre (EOC) on the Sustainable Production/ Delivery of Essential Com­modities During COVID-19 Pandemic in Abuja, Gwar­zo commended the mem­bers for the good work in keeping the tempo with while he was in Kano on national assignment.

According to him, “I led Ministerial Task Team on COVID-19 in Kano, it was conceived by the Minister of Health who sought the concurrence of his colleague in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investments and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF).”
