Omozuwa Uwa, an undergraduate of Uniben was in the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) to study as that was her usual routine, her rapist(s) must have been aware of this routine and must have known that there will not be anyone around in the church to hear her cry or come to her rescue. She was brutally raped and they (the rapists) tried to cover it up by smashing fire extinguisher on her skull with the aim of killing her, she was taken to the hospital but she eventually gave up the ghost. The Presidency and Inspector General of police are interested in this case so it is clear that it will not be swept under the carpet.

The Nigeria police force apprehended the suspected rapist(s) of Uwa on the 2nd of July, 2020 and it made people heave a sigh of relief but we have all been wondering how they were caught so quickly. It is not far fetched, their fingerprints gave them up, it is important to know that Nigeria now have a fairly functional database, our fingerprints are now in the hands of the government and it has made it easier for security agencies to arrest suspects.

When you register for National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Bank Verification Number (BVN), International passport, Driver's license etc your fingerprints is one of the mandatory field(s) that must be filled. Though unconfirmed, Three (3) out of ten (10) Nigerians have their information on the database of at least one of these government agencies. We must be careful to not mess around in a crime scene, don't touch anything as those prints of yours might just make you a suspect or an accomplice to a crime you nothing of, be careful!!!

Never give up
