6 Things President Buhari Might Declare As Second Phase Of Lock-down Comes To An End

Indeed there is nothing that has a beginning that does not have an end.

The Coronavirus pandemic indeed has really hit the economic activities not just in Nigeria, but across the entire world as a whole.

Despite its ravaging effect within the past few months of this year, one thing is sure that soon enough, the world will contain it and it will be just another pandemic that will be remembered in years to come.

So far as it concerns Nigeria, the Federal Government led by President Buhari had declared lock-down in three states initially with a subsequent introduction of a process of phasing out the lock-down in the three affected states.

And now as the second leg of the phasing out of the lock-down beckons by Monday 1st June, many Nigerians will be looking at and expecting either the President or the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha to address Nigerians and give directives on the next step.

However given the way the lockdown has so far affected the daily movement of Nigerians, most will be expecting that the government will make some decisions and among these are:

A call off of the ban on Inter state transportation.

Call off of the curfew in the three states of Lagos, Ogun and Abuja. Although this may interestingly be in place given the fact that even with the several days now,the numbers have not abated rather it appears it is still on the rise.

Restoration of general economic activities.

Compulsory and mandatory wearing of face masks by all Nigerians.

Compulsory observation of social distancing when they have to go out.

And also compulsory observation of social distancing in all companies to ensure that the spread is curtailed and minimized permanently.

What are your thoughts? What additional measures are you expecting the President to announce on Monday 1st of June?
