The 38 years old Jessica Fithen, who competed in Alaska to gain the title of Strongest Woman in the World, poses with her trophy at her gym, Unbreakable Athletics, in Plainfield.

The competition, held in Palmer, Alaska, events included a dogsled drag, keg pressing, a 460 pound axle bar deadlift for reps, a keg relay load and a 55 pound salmon toss and pushing a van. it was held last year Sept. Making her the world strongest woman, Jessica is still unmarried.When those guys come into the gym, the ones who look pumped up and hardened, and can't lift half of what Jessica can?

"It can be emasculating," said Jim Beebe, who owns Unbreakable, one of just a few Strongman gyms in the state.It all started when Jessica wanted to loose weight but eventually ended up in a strongman gym and discovered she was really strong naturally.

These days, Fithen trains at least four days per week, mostly at Unbreakable Athletics Academy in Plainfield, IN. But each Saturday, she drives 90 minutes to Indiana Strong a popular gym among Strongman competitors in Huntington, IN. “It’s important to have a crew who cares like you do,” she says.
