Following the lockdown order made by the president of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari to contain the spread of covid-19 disease in late February 2020 which paused the activities of the educational sector of the country resulting in the indefinite postponment of WAEC examination.



When school closure order was pronounced by President Buhari in a bid to contain the spread of covid-19 disease, WAEC students were about to commence their their examination, but they were not able to do so due to the lockdown order.

After sometime, the lockdown was being eased as some businesses had started opening gradually. However, life has not returned back to how it was before.

Apart from the deliberation of opening churches, another key word is when schools should resume. As the Lagos state government is already in a final consultation with the Federal Government regarding the reopening of schools and the necessary guidelines that should be taken.

WAEC Students are anxious as they are asking if they will still write their exam or should they be awarded creditable result as they will have to be writing their NECO and Post-UTME exams over the short period that is remaining this year.
