Nutrition brings us together. Whether the preferences are trendy towards conventional or modern, sitting around a table for a meal is a common comfort. Highly experienced tourists know that sampling local food is one of the best ways to explore the first-hand native culture. You may not speak the language or know your way around the city but there is always someone ready to share their favorite treat with a mug.
The planet is overflowing with delightful delicacies, and the best thing about traveling is enjoying all the great food on offer, but all too many hungry travelers tend to stick to what they know. But, do you really want the same fare you're eating back home the entire time? You can find cheeseburgers and pizza and fried chicken everywhere, but what about trying something different? Traveling is also about seeking out the unexpected and attempting to learn another culture in the country that you are visiting. One of the easiest ways to do so is to try to consume local foods. They may not be to everyone's tastes, but in their countries, the following foods, considered odd and weird, or even harmful to outsiders, and are considered delicacies. Although eating these foods can seem like a form of 'extreme dining' to us, they are tasty fare for the people who eat them every day or on special occasions. Just sticking to what you know is not doing any favors for your travel experience. Rather than going for the cheeseburger or the exotic fried bat, then try a local delicacy! From Asia's spicy wealth to Europe's sweet treats, a delicacy awaits you to try no matter where you are. The word "delicacy" is described as "something good to eat that is considered rare or luxurious," according to Merriam-Webster. When you're traveling, what's considered uncommon or luxurious in one country may be normal in another, but that doesn't mean it won't have its own local twist, so what fascinates you does not interest me, but the following are the reasons why you should try local dishes in places that you travel to Local dishes reflect the culture of a particular place. Local dishes are a symbol of the culture of a town and is deeply rooted in indigenous people's memories Patronizing local dishes is a way of supporting the community since a lot of tourists are assumed to patronize fast foods like McDonald's Local dishes taste better and fresher since the ingredient is locally grown and most times the food could be seasonal too Tasting local dishes makes you grow and learn from the experience. You can describe with confidence a certain delicacy own by one of the places you’ve explored to your friends and how much you enjoyed it. If l had all the time as l travel around the world, I'd use it to try as many delicacies as possible. Out rightly, l dislike boring meals and will always try new cuisines. It will then be my best traveling experience to actually hear about a new recipe, try it, come home and try to recreate it for my friend and loved ones. What has been your experience with local dishes in the places you’ve visited? Share with us in the comment box
