Precisely on December 31, 2019, the World Health Organisation (WHO) in China received their first report strange virus behind numerous pneumonia cases in Wuhan, a city in Eastern China with 11million population.

This was the start of a great epidemic that has now become global and available in most countries. The virus has become available in more than 200 countries with the US, Russia and the UK experiencing the virus outbreak not also leaving out the likes of Brazil, Spain, Italy. The true number of infections and deaths is likely to be considerably higher.

The epidemic storm of Coronavirus did not only shake the world financially or mentally but also educationally by each counties core not leaving out Nigeria which first discovered the virus in the country in March 2020.

Right on the 26,March 2020,The federal ministry of education ordered every school to be closed and shut down while respective students go back to their homes in order to prevent the spread of the virus and to keep the citizens safe from getting infected.

‘’It was recalled that Mr Sonny Echono on behalf of the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Adamu Adamu directed all 104 Unity Schools in the Country should close on or before 26th of March 2020 for one month as a proactive measure to contain the spread of the Coronavirus also known as COVID-19,” the reports had said.

This was a claim by news sources who didn't accredit it to any one.

The ministry of education and health was supposed to have had a meeting to discuss this and agreed before ordering the closure of schools which is a part of preventive measures needed to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The time frame which was released by the government as to when the schools be reopened is June 1, 2020.

However on April 24,2020, Rumours started circulating that school will be reopened in November 2020 which caused the ministry to rise to the podium and declaim the stories.

After which Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, minister of state for education, granted a press conference in Abuja, stating that there is no resumption date for schools yet.

"The Federal Government is not ready to put children at risk by opening schools. “The President addressed the issue of the opening of the economy gradually. Until that is done, we cannot foresee or immediately tell you when all the schools will be reopened.”he said.

The ministry also took to post on its official Facebook page. It reads ‘’ FAKE NEWS ALERT!!!! There is currently no confirmed date on the resumption of Schools Nationwide. These are purported news articles to dissuade the public. Kindly Disregard.”

Right now, there's no certain time for resumption since the numbers of the epidemic keeps increasing.

The ministry urges parents, schools, and students to disregard any rumour being posted online by bloggers and on social media by jokers.

In Nigeria

7,839 has been confirmed infected

2,263 has been recovered

221 has been found dead.

And still rising steadily though more slowly now.some Nigerians believe the virus is getting under control now and soon enough the Country will recover from it's lock and breakdown.
