The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha has revealed the Federal Government's intention to reopen schools, churches and mosques by June 2020 after the second phase of a 14-day lockdown and urged the general public to comply with the Government's directives to help contain the spread of the virus.
He encouraged that all organizations expecting reopening should use this two additional weeks to adopt new techniques to adapt to the presence of Covid-19. Boss Mustapha disclosed this during a briefing in Abuja.
Boss Mustapha stated in his briefing, “the 14 extra days must be put to use by establishment, offices, professional bodies, places of worship, academic institutions, etc. awaiting reopening to plan and undertake new strategies underneath a COVID-19 era in step with the principles".
“Above all, a behavioural shift could also be a need for every citizen because COVID 19 has changed stage completely.
He further explained the reasons why the federal government needed to continue the gradual easing of the lockdown.
He explained that the decision was taken out of much caution, modern-day reviews and expert advice.
He stated that we must keep an eye on our approach, delicately balancing between protection and financial considerations before fully reopening the economy.
