1. Ighalo rated as second-richest African footballer in EPL
The raking by The Sunday Times, placed Odion Ighalo, Former Nigerian striker, as the second-richest African footballer aged 30 and below in the English Premier League.

Mohammad Salah of Egypt still leads as the richest U-30 African player in the EPL.

Ighalo was estimated to have £18m wealth while Mo Salah has an estimated £19m net worth.

2. Ebonyi victim narrates how Cultists almost buried him alive
Sunday Oji, a 20-year-old student of Comprehensive Secondary School located in Ogwuma Village, at Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has said he narrowly escaped being buried alive by suspected cultists in the state.

Oji, who spoke from his hospital bed at Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Afikpo, said the suspects mistook him for a rival cult member and dragged him into a bush where they dug a grave to bury him alive.

3. Buhari meets with service chiefs at Presidential Villa in Abuja
The PUNCH reports that, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), is in a meeting with the service chiefs, holding at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, The meeting is not unconnected to the recent security challenges in some parts of the country. Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is also said to be in attendance.

4. Five soldiers have been killed by Gunmen in Borno
Five soldiers have been killed by Jihadists in an attack on a military outpost in restive northeast Nigeria, army sources said on Thursday.

They also added that, fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province in several trucks opened fire on troops at a checkpoint outside the town of Mainok in Borno State.
