Before you go into any distance relationship ask your self this question:

IS HE OR SHE WORTH WAITING FOR

This is the basic thing you should be certain of before you can cope in a distance relationship. people that go into a distance relationship without being certain of their partner tends to lose interest quickly cause they always have this doubt that their partner is cheating or might disappoint them. When one starts having doubt that's when the problem steps in cause your uncertainty creates question like "is this all worth it?",

"those he/she feel the same way as I do?", "maybe he/she is keeping another secret relationship", these kind of question can dominate ones thinking. Since you can't see each other you begin to make all sort of assumption or judgment that are often exaggerated or else completely wrong. Even the longer you are apart the more this uncertainty will grow into legitimate existential crises and which later ends the relationship leaving one hurt and heart broken .

That's to say before you go into any distance relationship be sure of your partner, that he/she is one who's worth waiting for and most importantly be sure that there is a date you are both looking forward to see each other.

This makes it easier to maintain the enthusiasm for, and optimism in each other. A long distance relationship can not survive without hope, for there to be hope, there most be some possibility that the two involved will one day be together and achieve a Happy Ever After.

Without that shared vision of Happy Ever After, everything will begin to feel meaningless and it mostly happen in relationship that one does not have the right answers to this question "is he or she worth waiting for?". Remember love is not enough. You both need to have a life vision that aligned, shared value and mutual interests .

You both also must feel as though you're working towards that vision so to make the relationship work, no matter the distance.

Can it work? Yes, it can. Does it work? Usually, no, that's true for the vast majority of relationships. But at least it doesn't mean we we shouldn't ever at least try
