South - West hunters , under the aegis of Soludero Hunters Association , said on Sunday that it was awaiting the directives from the six state governors and the leadership of the Yoruba World Congress on procedures for addressing insecurity in the zone .
The group , describing the rate of crime in the South - West as alarming , said its members were prepared to collaborate with governments of the six states in an effort to make a success of the Western Nigeria Security Network’ s initiative.
The President , Soludero Hunters Association , Oba Nureni Ajijola Anabi, said in Ibadan, “ We are ready to start operations immediately the Yoruba leaders and the governors brief us .
“ The governors have not given us what to work with like vehicles and other logistics that will enable us to begin operations . The rampant cases of armed robbery attacks in Oyo State are disturbing.
“ The robbers move in a large number of 20 to 50 to unleash terror on the affected communities. Security should be a joint effort . It will not be possible for the hoodlums to continue their heinous crimes if Amotekun has started operations .
“ The local preparation we need to make is already in place . We absolutely depend on Yoruba power . ”
