Lionel messi is one of the top goal scorers in the world. The Argentine forward is currently the barcelona top scorer, and have scored 19 la liga goals this season.

This analysis is not resentment of any kind towards messi as I am a messi fan, but I have analyzed Lionel messi performance since he clocked 32 and Its of my opinion that the Argentine Legend will not Teach Top 3 Highest goals scorer before he retires from playing.

Here are my three reasons.

1. Lionel messi is just 19 goals this season, which is one of his worst record in last decade. He has to score 100 more goals to be able to secure the third spot and dont forget that Cristiano ronaldo is a LSO a serious contender, having scored 21 La liga goals and currently have 28 goals more than Lionel messi.

2. Messi is already 32 and have few more years to play before he retires, he is currently playing as Barcelona right winger but its obvious that he wouldn't be playing at that position for long, with time, he will be dropped at the midfield which requires less run, so that he can stay there and share passes, through balls and make assists.

Deploying Messi at midfield means that the number of goals he will score in a season will be small.

3. Lionel messi health is detoriarting, at the beginning of this season, he missed three weeks because of an injury, he has been playing with pains since then. His body is becoming more susceptible to injuries, and he is a player that loves to hold ball on his feet, and this might be a major problem for him, as bad tackles might keep on sidelining him for weeks and however when this happens his chances of making Top 3 becomes impossible.
