The Reopening If School School Resumption: Fg States Date For Resumption To Schools
School Resumption: The PTF Adds Salts To The Open Wound In Today's Briefing (Details) by Timmyjossy(m): Mon 15, June, 2020 09:17pm
Impatience mounts in the heart of students, while pressure is the increasing factor in the decision of the federal government.

As students do not know which news to believe, or what source to trust, as various news updates surfaces online everyday, concerning the current state of school resumption in the country.

The Federal Government is said to have lifted ban on religious gatherings, and other activities of the country, which has more gathering capacity than most schools.

But the school remains closed, and there is no hope for resumption anytime soon based on the FG's and the Ministry of Education's decisions.

Parents, Teachers and Doctors have also added increased the severity of school resumption, as they have advised the Federal Government against re-opening school for the time being.

None of these people knows how students are feeling, they are obviously clueless of the eagerness lingering in the hearts of the home-sick students, who would rather prefer being in school than wasting time at home.

Some students are even ready to contract the virus, in as much as the resumption date is not delayed like it has been for the past few months.

The presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19, also added salt to the open wounds, by warning state governments that it is still not safe to reopen schools in any part of the country.

Boss Mustapha, the PTF chairman and the secretary to the Government, made this announcement during the daily briefing today Monday 15th, 2020.

The chairman said: “The PTF appeals to State Governments to embark on a wider community testing, enforce rules on social distancing and step up community engagement, risk communication and pay attention to places of large gatherings."

"We have received reports that some states are contemplating the opening of schools, television viewing centres and other places where large gatherings could take place." He added, warning the states that are already planning on opening schools.

“The Presidential Task Force re-emphasises that it is not yet safe to do so and that utmost caution should be exercised in this regard. The PTF guidelines should be complied with while considering decisions on this in the future.”

After this speech given by the chairman during the briefing, it was met with a series of gloomy and acornful faces of students, who have been very dependent on the Cross River and Borno states resumption scheduled for tomorrow.

It is now a matter of doubt, whether the two states, which were supposedly to resume, will continue with the contingency plans because of the PTF's new warning, which I term "Adding salt to the open wound."
