What action to take if bitten by a snake


Snake are reptiles, some of them have venoms which are highly poisonous and a person is bitten by a snake, you will definitely be in a confused state to tell if the bite is a dry bite or venomous bite.

A dry bite is classify as a bite whereby no venom is released from the snake, but this bites are usually painful, and do causes swelling and redness of the skin, following others symptoms like dizziness, anxiousness and confusion.


Knowing the right thing to do when bitten by a snake is highly recommended, so as to reduce mortality rate.

Here are some few steps to dealing with a snake bites:

1. Lay the patient, give and assurance that everything will be fine and do not move the victim so as not to cause further casualties.

2. Use an elastic bandage like setopress, tie him or her from the toes or arm and wrap the bandage up his arm or toe firmly. The compression bandage should be firm enough to reduce the lymphatic movement as the same time not to stop the flow of blood. Leave the finger or toes out in a position so as to monitor the flow of blood.

3. After covering the entirety with the bandage, mark the bitten spot with a pen or dirt from the ground so as not to mistake the point of bite.


4. Cut the bitten area with razor blade, place black stone on top of the wound so as to absorb the venom.

5. From here, you could call the emergency service so as to come take care of the wound properly.
