We go through alot during the day, starting from when we wake up, even before we step out from the house to when we finally lay our head on the pillow to sleep. Due to the stress which we may have undergone during the day, there is high possibility of ignoring important things you should do before hitting the bed. But no matter how tired you are, here are seven night rituals you should always observe:
1) Night bath; Very common, yet not common at all. A lot of people don't observe this particular night ritual, tired or not. They just go to bed and sleep off with the day's dirt, sweat and dust on them. It is very important to bath before going to bed. It makes you more refreshed and relaxed even if you were tired. Always take your night shower. It's good for your general wellbeing. It prevents body odor especially for the armpits. When you're done bathing, apply deodorant/ roll on. It goes a long way to prevent body odor. Change into a nightgown or any other free comfortable cloth before sleeping. This helps your blood to circulate well. For the ladies please don't wear underwears to bed, it stops air from entering the right places. 2) Brush your teeth; Same applies to brushing your teeth. Most people overlook this. They go to sleep with the whole food particles they ate during the day finding a resting place in their mouth. This not only promotes mouth odour but also may lead to dental caries especially for those that don't joke with sugary foods. So please always try to brush before bed. 3) Review everything that happened during the day then empty your mind; This is very vital. A lot of people just hit the sack due to tiredness and quickly fall asleep. Well, that's alright. But in a case where you don't sleep off immediately please try to go through what happened during the day in your mind. Applaud yourself for all you did right and forgive all your mistakes. Let go of every negative energy and anger towards anyone. This helps you to relax more and be at peace with yourself. It even helps to cure insomnia ie lack of sleep. Bottled in emotions isn't good for your health. Think of pleasant things. Make a conscious effort to remember only things that made you happy that day. It will help you sleep more soundly and minimizes chances of bad dreams. 4) Ensure you lock your doors and windows properly; Some people have landed into serious trouble because they neglected this. Never go to bed without checking if your gate, doors and windows are properly locked. There are thieves wandering in the night, looking for what they didn't keep. Avoid being sorry, do the needful. 5) Pray; The last but not the least pray. Please always endeavor to pray before sleeping no matter the height of your tiredness. Don't give the devil a chance. A lot of things do happen at night. Seek for God's protection before going to bed. The enemy doesn't sleep at night, and it's only God that can protect you from their malicious attacks. Observe these four simple but very important night rituals and see how much sweeter and relaxing night rest can become.
