The Nigerian government yet again has been relieved to it financial burden in it fight against the global pandemic known as COVID-19.
The Germany Mission in Nigeria has announced on Monday a donation of €26M as a support and relief fund to the Nigerian government to combat Coronavirus in the country. The fund according to the statement obtained by Punch Newspaper will be used to develop the ravaged North Eastern States like Yobe, Borno and Adamawa state. The statement read in part, “Germany continues to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa aiming to support the Nigerian Government with a view to protecting the most vulnerable groups and meeting the humanitarian needs. “The German Government is providing additional financial support of €26m for humanitarian assistance in North-East Nigeria and bordering regions in Chad, Niger, and Cameroon." This relief fund is one of the many that have been donated to the country in her fight against COVID-19. Apart from international donation, the federal government of Nigeria also enjoyed billions of naira as donation from wealthy people and institutions in the country.
