Similar to a drug, sugar gives a temporary high that is followed by a crash, which trigger's the body to want more, not only does excessive sugar intake leads to cravings, your taste bud will adapt to the amount you are consuming and leave you needing more just to get d same taste. 2. Feeling Sluggish. If you noticed that you always feel tired and lack energy, there is a good chance it has to do with your sugar intake. Energy stability has a lot to do with blood sugar stability and consuming too much sugar will send you on a blood sugar roller coaster. It's important to maintain a stable blood sugar level as too much will not only result in weight gain but rip you off your natural energy and focus. 3. Skin breaking out. Acne can easily break out on that sensitive spiking insulin from a high dose of sugar. Excessive sugar can show up on one's face in just a matter of days, if your skin appears to be continuing breaking out, and doesn't seem to improve, regardless of treatment, it may be your diet that needs to be reassessed. 4. Weight gain. Sugar is void of protein and fiber which results in excess consumption because it does fill you up, the more your sugar intake, the more excess calories you are being consumed. Sugar triggers the release of insulin, a hormone that contributes to weight gain which eventually causes insulin resistance when the body can't react to a normal amount of it. Insulin resistance isn't only linked to weight gain but also diabetics. 5. A Bad Attitude. Not only can excess sugar take a toll on your physical health, but also your mental health. When you are consuming too much sugar, you might or other people might begin to notice that you are moodier than usual. Blood sugar peaks and then sudden crashes can cause mood swings or irritability. These extreme changes in blood levels can also make the symptoms worse for those suffering from anxiety. 6. Cavities. Do you suffer from tooth decay? It might be time to start cutting down on your sugar. Resident bacteria In your mouth consumes the sugar intake but produces an acid that can cause tooth decay. It's not the sugar itself that causes cavities, but the change of event going on in the mouth because of the sugar. 7. The foggy brain especially after meals. One of the most common symptoms of low blood sugar is brain fog, excessive consumption of sugar leads to accelerated rises and fall of blood sugar levels rather than gradual. Sugar overkill, prompt your taste bud tolerance for the sweet stuff to go up, and satisfying a sugary craving takes more than it should.
