Stop Saying “Hello” When Someone Calls You, Say This.

Good day everyone, today we will be looking at one common mistake in English we make every day.

No one is perfect, but there are common mistakes we shouldn’t be making when speaking English.

There’re some words that are used wrongly, and as a result, sends the wrong message across. Now, let’s analyze the word “Hello”, it is more common to people making calls but it’s not meant to be used by both the caller and receiver.

Hello is a modest greeting meant to begin a conversation while “HI” is a response to the greeting “Hello”? The caller is supposed to be the initiator of the discussion because he/she made the call, while the receiver on the other end is required to respond to the questions of the caller or cut in and start a new conversation.

Therefore, the caller greets first “Hello” while the Receiver reciprocates with “Hi” not considering who is older. If your dad calls you, as long as he is the caller, he should start the conversation with ‘hello’ while you say “hi” as the receiver.

‘Hello’ is a word used to attract immediate attention, so it is advisable the receiver reciprocates with a ” Hi”, showing that his/her attention has been caught.
