*ðŸŸâš½Some Of The Most Embarrassing Defeats In Football History Selected:*âš½ðŸŸ
_âœCompiled By Sir Yaw Faith_ *🟠1- Brazil 1-7 Germany:* Brazil lost by such a margin at the World Cup as Miroslav Klose became the tournament's record goalscorer in the semi-final. Oh, and to make matters worse, it was in their homeland. 5-0 down after half an hour, surely the most humiliating defeat EVER. *🟠2- Barcelona 6-1 PSG:* PSG became the first team in Champions League history to exit the competition after winning a first leg 4-0. Not a record to be proud of though lads. The man in the PSG dugout that night? None other than Unai Emery. *🟠3- Manchester United 8-2 Arsenal:* Ferguson was left completely shocked in his post-match interview. "When you play Arsenal you don't expect a result like that," he said. Two English giants had gone toe to toe for so many years, but this was quite the opposite. *🟠4- Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona:* Barcelona players were supposedly offered PTSD treatment after they let a 3-0 lead slip embarrassingly, that says enough. Furthermore, it wasn’t any old game, it was a Champions League semi-final. *🟠5- Manchester United 1-6 Manchester City:* United's worst home loss since February 1955, in the local Manchester derby. Mario Balotelli unleashed this celebration after scoring, which is still remembered to this day. Old Trafford has never seen anything like it. *🟠6- Spain 1-5 Netherlands:* A game that showed that after so many years of dominance, the great Spain side had finally started to unravel. RVP scored THAT header and La Roja were truly destroyed in an epic World Cup encounter. *🟠7- Tottenham 2-7 Bayern Munich:* One of the games that started an unfortunate end to Mauricio Pochettino’s management at Spurs. Their biggest ever European defeat, on a huge stage. To pour salt into the wounds, former Gunner Serge Gnarby bagged 4, to Arsenal fans’ delight. *🟠8- Southampton 0-9 Leicester City:* The Foxes were brutal on this freezing night on the South Coast as they equalled the 24 year old record for the biggest Prem defeat. 10 men Southampton were completely dismantled. This won’t be forgotten anytime soon. *🟠9- England 1-2 Iceland:* One of the biggest giant killings ever seen in an international tournament. England supporters look away now. The Three Lions crashed out of the Euros at the last-16 to a squad consisting of many part-timers and managed by a dentist. Horrendous. *🟠10- MK Dons 4-0 Manchester United:* Probably the most humiliating low that the post-Fergie United has seen. Losing 4-0 to a League 1 side, it doesn’t come much worse than this for the Red Devils, despite Louis Van Gaal deciding to field a very weakened team. *🟠11- Stoke City 6-1 Liverpool:* Liverpool’s heaviest top flight defeat since 1963. At half time, Stoke City were 5-0 up already, on Steven Gerrard’s final game for the Reds. Ryan Shawcross said that the Stoke players just burst out laughing in the changing room. Savage. *🟠12- Manchester United 9-0 Ipswich:* The joint biggest Premier League victory has to be included. After losing 3-2 at Portman Road earlier in the season, it’s fair to say the Red Devils got revenge, and the rest. Andy Cole bagged 5 that day. *🟠13- Australia 31-0 American Samoa:* American Samoa were utterly battered, so much that FIFA had to introduce a pleiminary round so that Australia wouldn’t come up against these part timers again. Even San Marino could give these lads a game. *🟠14- Newcastle United 5-1 Tottenham:* Avoiding defeat here would still mark an accomplishment and a very good season finishing 2nd and above Arsenal for the first time in 2 decades. What did they do? Lose 5-1 to relegated, 10 man Newcastle. *🟠15- Middlesbrough 8-1 Manchester City:* The old days before Man City was absolutely transformed with a billionaire takeover. A nine goal thriller, with Middlesbrough scoring 8 of these. Even Afonso Alves scored, one of the biggest ever Premier League flops. ✌✌✌✌✌✌✌
