Meet Julia Gnuse, The World's Most Tattooed Woman

Julia Gnuse is said to be the world's most tattooed woman as indicated by the Guinness Book of World Records.





Julia Gnuse was born in 1955. She incredibly didn't start her modification transformation until her mid 30s, and now has roughly 95 percent of her body inked! Unlike most women who have much of body art pieces, her purposes behind the broad work weren't only for the aesthetic loveliness of the tattoos themselves either. Mss Gnuse has an uncommon hereditary issue called porphyria; a unique aversion to sunlight that results in blistering, scarring, or discoloration of the skin. Also, similar to any woman who's simply just too cool for school, she got the plan to cover her skin marks with something empowering and lovely: tattoo art.



In an interview, Miss Gnuse said although the ink did not stop her skin from blistering, it covered up the scars and allowed her to be exposed to the sun.

'I did this for the reason of covering scarring from the blisters. They get as deep as three degree burn,' she said.

'I had a friend who is a plastic surgeon, who suggested tattooing my skin the same color to the scarring that I had, seeing if we can match my just pale-looking skin that I had.'

'That didn't work. We tried it. It was very difficult to match that. So I had the idea of a colorful tattoo, then I got hooked. I got addicted.'

Miss Gnuse said there was medication available for her condition, but said taking it could have placed her at risk of blindness.

Looking vividly at her tattoos, it ranged from realistic monochrome brilliant color, and cover over a dozen styles of art. They include cartoons, tribals, florals, Japanese style color blocking, classic television personalities, and loads of other fun fare. And she onced said that some of her favorites are her tattoos of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. My favorites (of those that I’ve seen) are the vibrant flowing waves over her cheek, and her lovable knuckle tattoos highlighting the Peanuts Gang from Charlie Brown.






Today in her mid 50's, Julia lives in California and remains the Guinness Book of World Records' most tattooed woman in the world.
