Buhari Makes Fresh Appointments

It is worthy of note that, it is the statutory function of the president to appointment members of the executives. But the appointment is subject to approval by the senate, national assembly.

Do you know that President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the name of Dr. Tella Adeniran Rahamon to the Senate for confirmation as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in charge of Osun State.



It might intetest you to know that the President’s letter was read during Tuesday plenary by the Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan.

Nevertheless, Buhari also requested the Senate to consider the nomination of James Jiya Kolo to replace Mr. Daniel James Kolo, a Federal Character Commission (FCC) Commissioner nominee representing Kwara state who died recently.

Meanwhile, the President’s two requests have been referred to the relevant committees of the Senate for further legislative action.
