Things to do when bump into snake by Jimmy(m): Tue 02, June, 2020 04:22pm
Snakes are elongated, legless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes. Like all other squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. Because they are ectotherms, they are unable to internally regulate their body temperatures and cannot survive in extreme cold or heat.

Snakes could be scary especially to those who know little or nothing about snakes. But one thing for sure is the fact that Snakes are most likely to attack when they feel threatened, are startled, are provoked, or when they have been cornered. Snakes are likely to approach residential areas when attracted by prey, such as rodents.

snakes are often found in bushes, farms, not Regularly close to where man live.

things to do when you bump into a snake;

1. I already made it clear that snakes don't attack humans if they don't feel threatened. Therefore, if you see a snake while walking on the road or close to your house, or your compound, don't be afraid. If you don't have any backup to kill the snake and dispose it then just stop, observe the snake and gently take few steps backwards. There is a great possibility it has seen you and it is actually running away from you. The fear is mutual, the snake is afraid of you just as you feel threatened by it too.

2. In the event that you want to runaway from the snake, don't go across the snake, you would make the snake feel threatened. Run the opposite direction. A snake which is already afraid and wanting to escape from you,I don't see it coming after you when you're running away from it.

3. One of the reasons why a snake would be found inside your house is if your surrounding is bushy and it came to feed on Rodents or other smaller preys in and around the house. Therefore If the snake is seen in your living room or bedroom and you want to get rid of it, the first thing to do is not to panic but open all doors or exit points for it to find its way out, And they eventually will.

4. If you repeatedly find snakes in your home and you want to keep them off forever, use "ammonia". Snakes hate the smell and won't come near it. Soak rags in ammonia and place them in unsealed plastic bags. Leave the plastic bags where you usually see the snakes, or in strategic places around your home and they won't come back again.

Note: If you don't want to see snakes around your homes, then Regular pest control can reduce the threat of snakes considerably.

I am gentle and God fearing
