Many of us have got stocked with calling things in the wrong way just because others are doing so.
In Nigeria today, 95% of us don't know the correct name for what we call "Pure water" on a daily basis. People have changed and translated the names of our foods, fruits, drinks, etc. For example, 1.Moi-Moi- Mai-Mai 2. Akamu- Akam 3. Okra- Okwuro or Okro. Please let's adapt to learning the correct words for this stuff to avoid public embarrassment. In today's teaching, I will be telling us the correct name for what you do call "Pure water" but before that let us know its meanings one by one. What is Pure? According to Merriam-webster pure simply means "unmixed with any other matter" While "water" is a clear liquid that has no color, taste, or smell. Now, what is pure water? According to Wikipedia, Pure water is water that has been mechanically filtered or processed to remove impurities and make it suitable to use. Base on our definitions so far, you can see that "pure" may serve as any water that is pure. You may refer to your stream, pond, or lake as pure water but take note that pure water is defined as water that has been mechanically filtered. The correct word for what we use to call pure water is "Sachet Water" Anyway, we have been addicted to calling it pure water but let's try to be unique and presentable sometimes.
