Some animals that go unnoticed around our environment are among the top killers of human beings. Some of these animals kill directly through the venom from their bites, others cause deadly diseases in the body of humans. It is very important that we recognize the dangers posed to our existence by these neglected organisms. Some of these organisms, I want to talk about are:
1.Snails: Snails are a member of the molluscs family. They crawl around human enviroment and they are used to prepare a very delicious and nutritious delicacy for human beings in various cultures. However, fresh water snails particularly account for a reasonable number of deaths because they carry the lava of a flat worm that attacks human beings when they enter into water or ponds where these organisms live causing a disease called Bilharzia or Schistosomaisis.

When any snail feed on human or animal faeces that carries these worm, it will also become a carrier of schisoma. Schisoma is a kind of worm that attack the liver and the bladder of humans producing symptoms such as fever, headache, and blood in the urine. This disease kills an estimated number of 200 thousand people every year in the world.
2. Snakes: Snakes are another organism that kill enormous number of human beings every year. According to BBC.com, apart from the number of people killed by fellow human beings, snakes are the next major killers of human beings. An estimated 50,000 people die of snake bites every year.
3. Dogs: Dogs are considered to be friends of humans but they account for a reasonable number of deaths in the world every year. Dog bite causes rabbies in the body of their victims. This is rather more prevalent in Africa and India where we still have stray dogs that still have rabbies. Rabbies disease is caused by dog bites that carry the same disease. Care should be taken when dealing with dogs they are not well vaccinated against rabbies.
4. Tsetse fly: Tsetse fly are another flying insects that are no doubt very dangerous to humans. Their bites cause a disease called Trypanosomiasis or sleeping sickness. This disease according to BBC. com claim an estimated number of 10, 000 people every year.
5. Mosquitoes: Mosquitoes are by far the most dangerous organisms that live around us. Though neglected, they are considered or rated to be the greatest killers of human beings. According to BBC.com, Mosquitoes kill an estimated 1 million people every year. Mosquitoes transmit plasmodium into the body of human beings through their bites. These bites cause malaria to humans. Malaria attacks an estimated 2 hundred million people in the world every year and kill about 750 thousand people every year. Other diseases caused by mosquito bites are yellow fever, dengue fever and encephalitis. These claims an estimated 250 thousand people totaling 1 million people killed by mosquitoes every year.
