A man identified as Rabiu Omiya has hacked to death a student of the College of Health Science and Technology, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Yusuf Adi, at Ugah, in Lafia, the state capital.

The community leader, Musa Saidu, who confirmed the incident, noted that the 25-year-old deceased was attacked while he was sleeping.

“Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad came and apprehended two persons in connection with the crime in Ugah town,” Saidu stated.

He alleged that the deceased was struck with a machete on his head, while his younger brother was also injured, he noted that the victim lost much blood and died.

Saidu further stated that the assailant is on the run, while the incident has been reported to the Area ‘C’ Police Division.

The spokesperson of the command, Rahman Nansel, revealed that the command is on the trail of the suspect to facilitate his arrest.
