The department of education sent cercular 22 of 2020 to Deputy Directory General, Chief Directors, Circuit Managers, Principals Of Public And Independent Schools, Teachers, School Garverning Bodies, Labour Formations, etc.

The Department conducted an assessment on the provision of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and the cleaning of schools. It is said that the department of education will donate: face masks and sanitersers and, will have to make sure that they have running water and clean toilets all the time.

Arccordingly, the department is hereby of the view that all teachers and support stuff resume duty on Friday, 29 May 2020 for orientation and preparation for the return of Grade 7 and 12 learners next week.

The districts are advised to commence the engagement of relative structures upon the issuing of the commique. There is also a possibility that the delivery process of hygienic resources to school may not be concluded, but the department will try by all means to make sure that deliveries will be concluded during the course of the weekend.

Possibly classes for grade 7 and 12 will commerce this June, but first it has to be announced and confirmed by the Minister of basic education, still even if she does, still she can be challenged by other organizations such as SADTU which is a union that stand for teachers, parents as well may challenge her decision.
