These are a list of Nigerian celebrities who went from rich to broke.

1. Cynthia Morgan.


In 2018, she was charged to Ikeja high court for failure to pay her rent and invasion of tax.

A source close to her apartment said the amount she was owning which tally with the court paper that was served to her. The source further said that Cynthia morgan’s brother has been pleading with the landlord for more grace even when the initial 6 months grace given to her elapsed, she still couldn’t come up with her rent.

2. Dejumo Lewis.


This veteran actor who is known as kabiyesi in the old famous classy soap opera known as THE VILLAGE HEADMASTER. In 2015, he said he was broke.

During an interview with punch newspaper, he said despite the icon and veteran label, he was still the poorest actor in nollywood.

3. Ernest Asuzu.


This actor turned to roadside begging after battling with stroke. He was a very popular actor back in the late 1900s. His career as an actor almost died a few years ago after he was diagnosed with a stroke, he was bedridden for 3 years until the year 2015, he visited Mercyland Deliverance Ministry where pastor Jeremiah Fufeyin healed him of stroke but recently he was spotted begging for money.

4. Ifeanyi Ezeokeke.


He is popularly known as UGO SHAVE ME IN CONSPIRACY PART 1 AND 2. This actor has been down with critical illness and also broke.

He was visited by 2 of his colleagues die wait ikpechukwu and mike Okoye and they met him in very bad shape. Ifeanyi started his acting career as a child actor in conspiracy where he got his nickname UGO SHAVE ME, he also acted in alongside Pete Edochie in EGG OF LIFE.

5. UCHE ODOPUTA.


In 2007, this nollywood actor was arrested for trafficking drug and he was jailed for 2 years and 3 weeks. During an interview he had with Broadway tv, he revealed that his financial status leads him into trafficking drugs. According to him, he thought the trafficking of drugs will change his financial status because he wasn’t getting roles that pay his bills. Also, he couldn’t pay his rent.

6. Leo Mezie.


This actor started his acting career in the late 1900s. In the year 2016, he was down with kidney disease. He has been battling with the disease without asking for financial help from anyone, at some point, things got worse and he couldn’t pay for his medical bills anymore his 2nd kidney also failed ever since then, he has been placed on weekly dialysis which is very expensive, after spending all he had, he started soliciting for funds from his colleagues, friends and well wishes.

Pastor Suleman came to his rescue and sponsored his trip to the UK for a kidney transplant which is worth over 60,000 pounds but as he got to the UK, his kidneys miraculously started working again.

He came back to Nigeria looking very well and healthy, he goes for a regular checkup in the UK, just 11 months ago, he was diagnosed again with the same kidney failure, he has been on dialysis 3 times a week and a section cost 45,000naira and he needs a minimum amount if 20 million naira for his treatment.
