.... But for how long will this continue?
It is no longer new that schools across the nation had been on a long term holiday, an holiday which seems indefinite caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Looking back at the date, the closure of schools were ordered and the present situation, we can see that a whole lot has happened. Some Federal varsities across the nation even believed they are having a two breaks in one, one being the ASUU strike while the other one being the coronavirus break. Some who are done with a session or semester believe they are having a third break. Looking at the basic schools, they are yet to be done with their second term session, talk more of commencing a third term. Due to the long break they had had, if schools do not resume on June 8 as expected, they may loose interest and academic focus as lot of things has been forgotten. The minister of state for education Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, has disclosed that there are plans to soon reopen school Nationwide but there is no specified date yet, school will only be reopened after they are resourced properly. "...If the schools would resume, there are several things that needs to be addressed and put in place. When these things are not available, resumption of schools anytime can not be feasible" he added. We are all aware that the closure of schools due to the coronavirus pandemic has not only affected the nation but also the world. It was pointed out that it was essential for schools to resume because many young adults have been thrown off the edge with nothing to do. Some actually did not remember the last time they held a book, they are obviously tired of staying at home cannot wait to get to school.
