COVID-19 UPDATE: Nigeria cases of COVID-19 rises to 8,068, as 229 new cases confirmed



Out of the 45,683 tested samples for Covid-19 Nigeria has recorded 229 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), increasing the total confirmed cases in the nation to 8,068.



The 229 new cases are reported from 15 states- Lagos(90), Katsina(27), Imo(26), Kano(23), FCT(14), Plateau(12), Ogun(9), Delta(7), Borno(5), Rivers(5), Oyo(4), Gombe(3), Osun(2), Anambra(1), Bayelsa(1)





As at Yesterday the 25th of May 2020 Nigeria recorded 7 new deaths bringing the total number of deaths to 233.

No new state has a reported case of Covid-19 within the last 24 hours



COVID-19 FACTS:

The United States has the most number of recorded death from the virus having reported 99,771 deaths and over 1.7 million Active cases

Brazil has the second highest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases (375 thousand cases)

China had recorded the recovery of 77,370 infected persons out of over 81,865 cases. This represents 94.51 per cent of the total cases.



To help reduce the spread of the CoronaVirus disease we are to follow the following guidelines



*washing of hands or the use an alcohol based hand sanitiser when at home and in public places.

*keep our surroundings clean.



*wear face masks when going into public places.



*Maintain at least 1 metre distance between you and people coughing or sneezing.



*Avoid touching your face.



*Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.



*Stay home if you feel unwell.



*Practice physical distancing by avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people.
