Newcastle head coach Steve Bruce has warned that players will not be ready for competitive action until the end of june as the English Premier league looks to restart it's season.

The league was suspended since mid-march as a result of covid-19 pandemic, but it's plan to resume next month received a boost when the UK government said it was opening a door for sport to resume last week.

Another meeting is schedule to hold on thursday to discuss on safety measures needed for "Project restart" to happen and Steve Bruce said that players need atleast six weeks to get back in shape.

You have to remember that the have had eight weeks off and that is probably the longest break most of the players have had in their careers, Bruce said. Most of the managers have the same concerns... I don't see how we can play games until the end of june, he added.

Watford manager; Nigel Pearson has already warned that players life could be in danger if the Premier league return too soon.
