1. 3 persons have died of COVID-19 in Lagos
In an announcement made by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control through its COVID-19 Situation report 77, Lagos State has recorded 179 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total confirmed cases in the state to 2, 278. Three more patients also died from coronavirus-related complications in the state, The PUNCH reports. 2. Buhari receives Guinea Bissau President at the State House in Abuja According to the Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has met with his Guinea Bissau counterpart, Umaro Sissoco Embaló at the State House in Abuja. The agenda of the visit was, however, not disclosed. The PUNCH reports that Boss Mustapha, the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, had said his principal ordered the airlifting of a consignment of Madagascar’s COVID Organics from Guinea Bissau. 3. Gunmen attack Kogi community, kill three Adamu Abubakar, The Assistant Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, has disclosed to newsmen that Gunmen have reportedly killed no fewer than three persons in Egume in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State. According to Abubakar, some gunmen invaded Ofanwa Elubi community in Egume and opened fire on the Fulani residents, killing three and injuring many in the attack which lasted several minutes. 4. Ekiti slashes 2020 budget to N91bn Ekiti State Government has announced a reduction in its 2020 budget from N124.5 billion to N91.128 billion in compliance with the current economic realities due to coronavirus pandemic. Mr Muyiwa Olumilua, The state Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, made this known in a statement in Ado Ekiti.
