Being in a corporate environment requires proper conduct. Most people either don’t know how to act in corporate organizations or they choose to flout the rules.
It is normal to have colleagues who are close to you at work; it is also not out of place to notice romance brewing in the office. However, there should be a line drawn between official engagements and frivolities. Most offices have their mode of conduct and perhaps, a guide with which workers are expected to operate with. Depending on the job description and general aim of the company or organization, then you should not turn the office to a free room where you do things as you deem fit. While you may see yourself as a touchy person, you should learn to hold back and avoid touching a woman on the following parts of her body while in the office: 1. Hair Your colleague may be extremely beautiful; she may be a stunning woman. Nevertheless, you should learn to hold back from running your hands on her body. Men are moved by sight and may be tempted to touch a woman’s hair especially if the hairstyle is appreciated. Touching a woman’s hair is not ideal, given that you are not her boyfriend or her sister. Even in cases where your girlfriend works in the same office with you, you should learn to stick to the ethics of the job and continue your romance outside the office. 2. Nape of neck What would you be doing touching the nape of a woman’s neck in the office? What exactly do you aim to achieve touching there? It is not only a violation of the woman’s body; it’s a breach of office ethics. However, this is excusable if your office is a yoga or dance class. It’s near impossible to practice in a dance class without groping your partner’s body at one point or the other. 3. Waist The common way of greeting a colleague in the office is by shaking. Occasionally, people hug when exchanging pleasantries. This hug should not go too far; many men abuse this mode of greeting by clinging to the ladies for too long. There’s no denying that there could be emotional connectivity between people of opposite sex. It is therefore important not to deliberately set off sparks while being courteous. Avoid circling your hand round a woman’s waist in the office. It is not professional. 4. Butts It is absolutely wrong for you to touch a woman’s butts in the office. Do not cross the line by touching a woman’s butts irrespective of the level of closeness between you two. You should learn to respect women in your working place. It is essential to have a certain level of self-control even when the butt is being swayed in your face. 5. Laps You may want to call the attention of your colleague to something at work, a gentle tap on the hand or shoulder would do. Avoid touching the laps of a woman while you are at work. In addition to being highly professional at work, you would also gain the respect of the woman and your colleagues.
