Nigerian music star, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, is no doubt one of the top artistes in the country. He has successfully taken Nigerian music to the world map despite being in the industry for a relatively short time.
The star became known in the music scene after his hit song in 2011, Back When, and he hasn’t looked back ever since. He has been able to surpass his seniors in the industry to the joy of fans. 1. Award winning artiste The Nwa Baby crooner is a multiple award winning artiste. According to Wikipedia, he has received a total of 42 awards out of 87 nominations including BET awards, MTV Africa Music Awards and Channel O music video awards to name a few. 2. First African to perform at Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards in November 20, 2017, Davido received a MOBO award for the Best African Act and he was also the first African to perform live at the award show.3. Sold out global concert venues Davido has no doubt taken his music across the borders of Nigeria as he has sold out several concert venues overseas. he has sold out concerts in the UK as well as in South America. 5. Music tops New York music chart The singer recently topped a music chart in New York City after one of his songs, Fall, emerged as the most searched song on application Shazam. Davido's song was number one on the list as at October 11, ahead of international artistes, Lil Wayne's Uproar and Travis Scott's Sicko Mode. 6. Philanthropist The star might have been trailed by controversies at some points in his career, but he is unarguably a cheerful giver. He has been known to reward his fans with money and gifts. Davido is also known to preach generosity because according to him, you can only rise by lifting others up.
